Dear Parents,
Welcome back to pre- school – I hope you all enjoyed he Easter break!
County Photos on Tuesday 2nd May
County Photos are a professional photography company who come to take photos every year. They provide proofs from which you can order but you are under no obligation to buy. On Tuesday 2nd May they will start shortly after 8.00am if anybody would like to bring in older siblings for a family photograph and you are also welcome to bring in younger siblings – just please let me know if you would like to do this. If your child does not normally attend on Wednesday you are welcome to come to get photo taken, again please let me know. Children who are going to national school in September also have their photograph taken with a cap & gown – we have all the children displayed over the years in the front hall. Please let me know if you do NOT want your child photographed by County Photos.
HSE Dentist Visit on Wednesday 3rd May
Mary Carr is a Dentist with the HSE and she is coming in to give a talk to parents at 11.15am on Wednesday 3rd May. This is an invaluable opportunity for you to be able to help your child learn to make healthy choices and develop positive attitudes to nutrition, hygiene and routine. Developing good habits in these early years are crucial to good health all through life. Please let me know if you would like to attend so I can cater for numbers.
Personal belongings and toys from home
I would just like to remind everybody not to allow children to bring in personal belongings or toys from home. There is a good chance that they will get lost or broken or be forgotten at home time and this causes unnecessary upset. If your child is particularly excited or keen to bring in something to show us then that is fine as long as it is goes back home with Mum or Dad at drop off.
Policy Change – Social Media
I would like to make a change to our current policy on social media. Currently the policy is that Rainbow Lane does not use social media. I would like to amend the policy so that I can create a Rainbow Lane Facebook page for the purpose of having a media presence within the community. I will use it primarily for advertising and also to link in with other community groups and keep up to date with what’s going on in Longwood. Please note that this change does not affect the video & images policy as it will never be used to display children’s photographs, videos or to discuss children’s activities. Please do not hesitate to come and speak with me if you have any questions or concerns.
See-Saws
I have a couple of plastic see-saws that the children do not use anymore and I am happy to give away. I will leave them at the front of the building for anybody who would like to take one.
Thanks Margaret
