Dear Parents,
Finally, photos on the website have arrived! Go to www.rainbowlane.ie/gallery – There is a gallery for each room – click on view gallery – it may take a while for the photos to load. I will update the galleries regularly. It might be a nice idea to have a look at these pictures with your child so he / she can talk about what they were doing.
We also have started a portfolio for each child which will contain photographs, artwork and observations. It will take us a while to catch up to include all photos and work from September up to date. Please feel free to take a few minutes to look at your child’s portfolio at drop off or pick up time. If you want to bring the portfolio home for the weekend that is fine with us.
If you have any questions or comments do link in with your child’s key adult. Please bear in mind that – pick up time is more convenient for a chat – just hang back until all the children have been collected. If you are working and do not collect your child you can always text me to set up a convenient time for a phone call.
If you need to contact the pre-school between 9 to 12 the best way is to text a quick message to 087 235 5347.
Also just a reminder that parents need to have left the building by 9.10am in the mornings as the front door is locked and unmanned from 9.10 onwards.
Outdoor Play We have really been enjoying outdoor play since September. The new soil box has gone down a treat! We are expecting new sand to be delivered shortly. We also do a lot of water play so can you please dress your child in wellies and rain gear before they come to pre-school on his/her outdoor day. Thanks for your help!
Team Hope – Christmas Shoebox Appeal Rainbow Lane participates in this worthy appeal every year. If you would like to partake, then, Team Hope ask you to fill a shoebox with gifts that they will distribute to needy children in countries in Eastern Europe and Africa. Leaflets will be distributed to the children next week where it details how it works and what items are recommended. I have a few shoeboxes here that I will leave in the front hall. The deadline for returning the boxes to Rainbow Lane is Monday 9th November. See www.teamhope.ie for more information.
Temple Street Children’s Hospital – Longwood Parent & Toddler Group are running Trick or Treat to raise funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital on Saturday 31st October from 2 – 5pm in Rainbow Lane. There will be face-painting, brick-a-brack stall, teas, coffees & buns. Everyone welcome to come and join the fun!

Halloween Costumes Children are welcome to wear in costumes on Friday 23rd October if they wish to do so. There are spare costumes here if you do not have one to hand. We will go outside to wave at the Primary School’s annual Witches & Warlocks walk at 10am.
Halloween Break pre-school is closed from Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October inclusive – re-opening on Monday 2nd November.
Christmas: We invite parents to a small Christmas Performance on Friday 18th December. Green Room at 9.30am, Ribbon Room at 10.30am and Rainbow Room at 11.30am.
Note: In the case of the Green Room if your child does not normally attend on a Friday he/she is welcome to be dropped in at 9am but then must be brought home after the performance.
The last day of school is Tuesday 22nd December for Christmas Holidays. Re-opening on Wednesday 6th January
