Dear Parents,
Before the break, a couple of parents came up with a few suggestions to ease safety concerns outside the school as follows……………………..
- If you find yourself late arriving please don’t rush when parking the car. An extra thirty seconds is not going to make any difference.
- The tarmac in front of the hall is not to be used for parent parking. Three or four staff cars will be parked there and parents can use the space at the end of the hall. In this way cars are not driving or reversing across the footpath.
- The space immediately outside the school gates is to be left free. Bollards will be placed there.
- Pedestrians and cyclists must do any preparation with bikes or buggies inside the school gate and only exit the gate when you’re full attention is on your child’s safety.
- A one way system is proposed. From the village cars are advised to drive towards Kinnegad, take a left around the Green and approach the school from the Ribbontail direction. On leaving drive towards the village.
These suggestions were made by parents in the interests of safety of children. If after a while you find that these suggestions are not working I am happy to facilitate another meeting for further tweaking.
Kind regards,
Margaret
