Pyjama Day

Apologies I am so late notifying you about pyjama day!

Every year we take part in this national fund raising event run by Early Childhood Ireland. Over the years it has raised over €2.5 million for charities which enhance the lives of young children. Previous charities have been Make-a-Wish, Irish Hospice Foundation, Irish Autism Action and Children in Hospital Ireland.

However, this year ECI have not yet identified a specific charity but say the money will support three Irish children’s charities to deliver social impact projects and the beneficiaries will be announced over the coming months.

This has been my dilema about whether I should hold pjyama day as I am uncomfortable asking parents to donate money in the absence of a specific charity?

We have decided to go ahead with Pyjama day this Friday 3rd March as we usually have too much fun on this day to miss out. But I am NOT going to collect money at this point. When ECI announce the beneficiary, then I will put out the donation boxes if you would like to donate.

So for Friday we ask all children and staff to wear in their Pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns, they can bring in a favourite bed time teddy bear, book, duvets and pillows if they wish. We might even make hot chocolate!

Hope this is OK with all and if parents want to come in their PJ!s on Friday that would be great too!

Thanks

Margaret
